Picture

The Community Foundation is delighted to announce, that through one of its private Donor funds it has committed €60,000 over three years to the Kids Classics project, run by the National Concert Hall. The grant will allow talented musicians visit the three main children’s hospitals in Ireland to work with the young patients at their own levels of ability, this may be to play their favourite TV tunes or to teach them some interesting facts about the lives and music of the great composers.

Desperate Times Require Innovative Measures. Fundraising in a recession

Picture

It takes perserverance, innovative thinking, and a strong belief in your mission to be a successful fundraiser during a recession. Whether the economy is soft or strong, one sure way to raise less money is to stop asking for it! The best way to recession-proof your fundraising is to keep doing the things that raises money and to do it in a way that both gathers attention and strengthens relationships with donors, helping them become evangelists for your cause:

◦keep on making wise investments in fundraising efforts,
◦stay upbeat, and
◦continue to compassionately raise support.

Innovative ideas can include everything from a Group World Record attempt, where participants pay a fee to be included in the attempt, to a Slim-a-Ton where people are sponsored to lose weight or even staging a play!

Fundraising Ireland are holding a unique conference on March 30th 2011. The conference has been designed for fundraisers, by fundraisers who understand the challenges facing people working in this area today, with a fantastic line-up of speakers from Ireland and overseas who will provide practical advice, tips and essential ‘know-how’.

Fund It! Crowdfunding Ireland's Creativity!

Fund It is a new service created by Business to Arts and supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport. Crowdfunding is the collective pooling of money by people, usually via the internet, to micro-fund creative projects initiated by other people or organisations.

Fund It is for anyone with a creative idea who has a ‘do-it-yourself’ approach to fundraising for their projects and a network of supporters who can help them do it.

Individuals, groups and organisations with ideas for creative projects can register those projects on the Fundit.ie platform for a defined period of time. Through promoting the project to their audience or social network and offering ‘rewards’ in return for small amounts of funding, they aim to attract a large number of pledged donations to at least make, if not exceed, their target.
